<p><strong>The Client:</strong> Valley Arts</p>
<p><strong>Project Description: </strong>Design and illustration for a fine art show. The exhibition was part of the the annual Cuckoo Day celebrations: </p>
<p><em>Many years ago the people of Marsden were aware that when the cuckoo arrived, so did the Spring and sunshine. They tried to keep Spring forever, by building a tower around the Cuckoo. Unfortunately, as the last stones were about to be laid, away flew the cuckoo. If only they&#8217;d built the tower one layer higher. As the legend says, it &#8220;were nobbut just wun course too low.</em></p>
<p>The design incorporated illustrations and elements from the famous local story.</p>

<p><strong>Project Description:</strong> Following the success of last years design for Chetham&#8217;s School of Music Woodwind Day, I was commissioned again to come up with something special for this years theme of magic. Original illustrations captured some memorable fairytale and mythical character, playing an assortment of woodwind instruments! </p>
<p><strong>Solution:</strong> The campaign targeted children who have never played one of the above instruments before, and encouraged them to come and ‘have a go’. Establishing a vibrant and colourful design along with some original illustrations, the campaign covered press and magazine advertisements, promotional print, and online advertising. </p>

<p><strong>Project Description:</strong> Girlguiding UK celebrated its Centenary in 2010– and it was certainly a year to remember! The culmination of the celebrations for the North West region, was a special event dinner to thank all those involved. </p>
<p><strong>Solution:</strong> I was commissioned to design and print the invitation, that not only celebrated and looked back at 100 years of Girlguiding, but also highlighted some of the achievements of the Centenary year.</p>

<p><strong>Background:</strong> Royle Security specialises in protecting homes and businesses and supplies alarms, CCTV, security lighting, entry systems and other equipment from its base in Springhead, Oldham.</p>
<p><strong>Project Description:</strong> After 10 years in the security supply business Royle Security decided it was time for a refresh and relaunch. They wanted to grow from a local based company to one that was national, and they needed a fresh new identity to achieve that. Cooldream helped them with all aspects of their rebrand &#8211; from their corporate identity and website, to new signage and livery designs. Other design pieces included exhibition graphics and marketing literature for direct mail and promotion.</p>

<p><strong>Project Description:</strong> As part of their Outreach program Chetham&#8217;s School of Music hold a Woodwind Day for children every year. The aim of the day is to create a buzz and excitement about woodwind instruments, and to give children the opportunity to work with other students and staff at Chetham&#8217;s. The children also get to try new instruments for the very first time such as a flute, oboe, saxophone, clarinet, bassoon and recorder.</p>
<p><strong>Solution:</strong> The campaign targeted children who have never played one of the above instruments before, and encouraged them to come and ‘have a go’. Establishing a vibrant and colourful design along with some original illustrations, the campaign covered press and magazine advertisements, promotional print, and online advertising. </p>
<p>Cooldream succeeded in communicated the relevant information whilst still maintaining an expressive and lively feel. The campaign proved to be so effective the client struggled to cope with the demand! We don&#8217;t often hear one of our clients say the design was <strong> too successful!</strong></p>

		<description><![CDATA[A successful research study is only as good as the data that can be collected, so when King’s College weren’t getting the expected response rate from their study materials, another approach was needed...]]></description>

<p><strong>Project Description:</strong> Research study materials</p>
<p><strong>Background:</strong> The Crohn&#8217;s disease prevention study needed to research and collect information about smoking relatives of patients with Crohn&#8217;s disease. Crohn&#8217;s disease patient were first contacted by letter to ask if they are  willing to pass on contact details of their 1st degree relatives. If permission was given the relatives were then contacted to invite them to participate in the study.</p>
<p>Based on feasibility studies it was expected that for every 10 patients contacted one eligible relative would be recruited. Instead the study found that they had to contact 100 patients to recruit just one eligible relative.</p>
<p><strong>Solution:</strong> Cooldream redesigned the previous study materials (that were uninviting and quite complicated) so the message and content were clearly communicated. The information needed to be accessible and attractive to a broad audience, so working closely with the study co-ordinators, imagery, design and copy were all carefully considered to appeal to the target audience.</p>
<p>As personal data and consent was being collected, trust in the study was paramount. The new design and quality print finish of the materials created a more professional feel, which in turn gave the information more weight and authority, and potential candidates more confidence in the study. </p>
